Microbial functions and soil nitrogen mineralisation processes in the soil of a cool temperate forest in northern Japan

چکیده

There is little knowledge about microbial functional community structures and the relationships between communities nitrogen transformation processes. Here, we investigated soil mineralisation potentials in a cool temperate forest throughout growing season. Microbial were assessed by quantification of total bacterial, archaeal, fungal gene abundances bacterial archaeal amoA abundances, predictions bacteria fungi, analysis bacterial-fungal co-occurrence network. In mid-summer, ectomycorrhizal abundance was significantly higher, whereas lower. Bacterial also higher mid-summer. However, regardless seasonal fluctuation net nitrification potential did not show clear seasonality. network analysis, divided into 13 modules, which subgroups assumed to have similar niches. Furthermore, two modules that mainly consisted species Proteobacteria Bacteroidetes positively correlated with potentials. Our results indicated sharing niches, instead could be important factors affecting potential.

Microbial consumption of atmospheric isoprene in a temperate forest soil.

Isoprene (2-methyl-1,3 butadiene) is a low-molecular-weight hydrocarbon emitted in large quantities to the atmosphere by vegetation and plays a large role in regulating atmospheric chemistry. Until now, the atmosphere has been considered the only significant sink for isoprene. However, in this study we performed both in situ and in vitro experiments with soil from a temperate forest near Ithaca...

Soil nitrogen affects phosphorus recycling: foliar resorption and plant-soil feedbacks in a northern hardwood forest.

Previous studies have attempted to link foliar resorption of nitrogen and phosphorus to their. respective availabilities in soil, with mixed results. Based on resource optimization theory, we hypothesized that the foliar resorption of one element could be driven by the availability of another element. We tested various measures of soil N and P as predictors of N and P resorption in six tree spe...

Soil microbial responses to forest floor litter manipulation and nitrogen addition in a mixed-wood forest of northern China

Changes in litterfall dynamics and soil properties due to anthropogenic or natural perturbations have important implications to soil carbon (C) and nutrient cycling via microbial pathway. Here we determine soil microbial responses to contrasting types of litter inputs (leaf vs. fine woody litter) and nitrogen (N) deposition by conducting a multi-year litter manipulation and N addition experimen...

a contrastive study of rhetorical functions of citation in iranian and international elt scopus journals

writing an academic article requires the researchers to provide support for their works by learning how to cite the works of others. various studies regarding the analysis of citation in m.a theses have been done, while little work has been done on comparison of citations among elt scopus journal articles, and so the dearth of research in this area demands for further investigation into citatio...
